Earlier this month my mom and I had the privilege of staying at the Woodlark Hotel in Portland for a quick mom & daughter weekend trip. We had such an amazing time exploring the city, relaxing at the hotel, and just enjoying each other’s company!
Prepare yourself because Woodlark is ADORABLE and I wouldn’t be surprised if this blog post makes you start itching to go to Portland. 😉
The second you step into Woodlark, every single inch of the place is well thought out and curated. The interior design is amazing… from the lobby to the rooms to the various restaurants they have in the hotel. Lots of black and white tile, gold accents, plants, and fun art!
The Room
We stayed in a Premium Two Queens room and it was perfect for us! Like most hotels, they have a nice little bar and snack selection. They also offer room service from the main restaurant in the hotel, Bullard.
We each had our own (super comfy) bed which was great. Apparently they also have a ‘pillow menu’ where you can choose what kind of pillow you want… amazing.
Another random plus – they allow pets! We were kind of wishing we had brought our little dog Kelo. 🙂
These cozy PJs are from Summer Salt – you can use AUTUMNSORELLE10 for $10 off on their site.
The bathroom in our room was stunning – it kept with the dark green/black/white/gold theme and was really spacious.
The Hotel
Like I mentioned before, the ground floor of Woodlark is beautiful and has the cutest decor! Right when you walk in the hotel on the right is Good Coffee – they offer coffee (duh) as well as different breakfast items. We enjoyed sitting there for a while on Saturday morning!
In addition to Bullard (the restaurant) and Good Coffee, they have a fun bar in the back corner of the hotel called Abigail Hall. We went there for a quick drink after checking in on Friday night and loved it! It was pretty packed so we just grabbed a seat at the bar, which we don’t mind doing. This spot sort of felt like a speakeasy because of the fireplace, leather furniture, patterned wallpaper, and candles everywhere. It was too dark and crowded for photos but you can see more of it here!
The Area
Woodlark is located just right Downtown Portland, making it really easy to walk around and explore the city. We lucked out with great fall weather when we were there and had a nice time just strolling around in between meals, shopping, etc. Below I’ll share a few spots we really enjoyed!
Just right down the street from Woodlark is Tasty n Alder, one of the more popular restaurants in Portland. It’s right across from this gorgeous church (above). We waited about an hour to eat brunch there on Saturday and killed time by walking to Powell’s Books, a must-see spot in Portland!
On Saturday afternoon we walked over to the Portland Saturday Market, which we weren’t too impressed by to be honest. There were about 50 vendors and not to be harsh but everything felt pretty junky. That said, it is on the waterfront (of the river that runs through Portland) which was pleasant!
I would say my favorite area of Portland is probably the Pearl District – there are a ton of great restaurants and little shops. We walked through here on Saturday and got happy hour at Irving Street Kitchen. Their fries were soooo yummy oh my word.
On Sunday we decided to drive over to the other side of the river and check out the east side a bit before heading out of town.
Tusk has been highly recommended to me by several people so we grabbed lunch there and it was super tasty! The menu changes weekly based on what seasonal ingredients are available.
After lunch we stopped by a few boutiques in the area. Banshee is a cute little vintage shop just a few doors down from Tusk and then both Wild Cactus Boutique and DANO are a couple minutes away on Division Street.

(We shot a cute outfit right in front of the store, check out this blog post to see!)
Portland is just such a fun city – it’s vibe is similar to Seattle which I love of course. I highly recommend making a point to visit sometime soon! And when you do, remember to stay at Woodlark for the best experience possible. 😉
XO Sorelle
Shoutout to the best mom ever (seriously) for joining me on this fun weekend trip and helping me with photos! And of course thanks to Woodlark for sponsoring this post. 🙂
