Recently I have been super into neutral, monochromatic looks. Something about neutral colors feels timeless and effortless. They’re comforting but chic at the same time. I’m laughing at myself as I write this lol but it’s true! You really cannot go wrong with cream, white, grey, black, brown, and navy.
Quick disclaimer – I’m all for incorporating bold, bright, spunky pieces into my wardrobe. You know this if you read my recent blog post where I shared tips for rejuvenating your wardrobe. However, sometimes a simple look with just one or two colors is what you need to feel classy.
For this monochromatic outfit I decided to experiment with my new favorite trend… midi-length skirts or dresses paired with tall boots.
I love how the fabric on the bottom of the skirt brushes over the top of the boots and creates a seamless look.
Also, I have to mention the accessories! I was obsessed with this adorable crocodile embossed purse with the gold detail as soon as I saw it on the Lulus site. Love the shape, and it’s medium size is perfect for fitting everything I need without it being too large.
The watch is a new staple of mine thanks to Nacre – the gold + white combo is so cute and matches with almost everything I wear.

Now time for a quick update on what’s been happening with me! If you follow my Instagram stories at all then you might already know these things. 🙂
First of all… I MOVED OUT! After graduating from college in May of 2017, I moved back in with my parents to save money and pay off some school loans. This past month, I had an amazing opportunity that I couldn’t pass up to move into a cute townhouse in Seattle with two of my cousins. They’re sisters and our moms are twins so we’re all extremely close! The whole situation is ideal – I feel so blessed. This being said, you can expect to see a lot more home content from me which is exciting! I’m still getting settled but will be sure to share consistently on Instagram as I start pulling my room together.
Next – Layne, my little sister/bff, just left to study abroad in Prague, the same city I studied in as a junior in college. It’s so surreal to me that she’ll get to experience living in one of my favorite places – going to the same restaurants, sitting in the same parks, walking the same streets… makes me so happy to think about. (Click here to check out a post I wrote on some of my favorite things to do in the city). My parents and I will be visiting her in April and I seriously can’t wait!
Also, I recently had the opportunity to be a fashion contributor for Bellingham Alive – the local magazine in Bellingham, a town just a few hours north of Seattle. I wrote a piece on how to strategically clean out your closet and clear clutter for the new year, which you can find here if you’re interested.
Two weeks into 2019 and I’m feeling so excited for this year. I have a gameplan and intentions set for different areas of my life that I’m really excited about. Overall, my theme for this year is to plan ahead and stay organized, while being spontaneous and pushing myself out of my comfort zone at the same time. I feel like this is the balance I need!
That’s all for now… hope you enjoyed this post. I truly love finding who exactly reads my blog and what’s going on with them – so tell me something that’s new with you in a comment below!
