Style Hack: How to Pair Sweats with Booties

In my opinion, the best possible outfit is one that is both cute AND comfy. Feeling like you look good/fashionable while being comfortable at the same time just cannot be beat. That’s exactly what I was going for with this look when I paired some of my favorite joggers with my go-to booties. It can seem daunting to incorporate sweats into your wardrobe for purposes other than just lounging at home, but it’s actually SO easy! Today I’ll share some tips for doing so.

When you’re going to wear sweatpants with booties, they have to be the right pair. These ones were perfect because they’re slightly cropped, hitting right above my ankle. They’re also a bit of a slimmer fit. If you’re going to go with baggier ones, just make sure they have elastic at the bottom so they’re cinched above your booties.

Here are a few of my favorite sweats/joggers that would be great for this sort of look:

Now for the booties. I think this type of outfit looks more put together when the shoe has a bit of a heel. I’ve even seen people pair joggers with open-toed heels and that can look really cute! Also, it might just be me, but pointy-toed booties seem to go best being that they’re less chunky. The pair I’m wearing in these photos is my absolute FAVORITE right now. Possibly my favorite pair of booties ever. They are extremely comfortable and go with everything – sweats (obviously), jeans, dresses, skirts… even biker shorts. Shop them + some similar styles below.

My last tip for pairing sweats with booties is to make sure that you’re wearing something somewhat fitted on top. I went with a turtleneck and leather jacket for this outfit. Since sweats are bit looser, you want the top half to be more structured so you avoid looking too casual.

Hopefully you’re convinced now – this type of street style look is not that hard to pull off! Try pairing these two items together and let me know when you do so I can see how it turned out. 🙂
