Evolve Home and Apparel is one of Tacoma, Washington’s best boutiques – with a functioning website for those of you who don’t live in the area. I’m going to share a little bit about Evolve, as well as a fun look I created from one of their dresses!
One thing I have always enjoyed no matter where I am is shopping in boutiques. Here in Washington, down in Orange County, CA where I went to school, or even in a city that’s entirely new to me… there’s nothing like discovering a cute boutique and finding that special, unique thing that you can’t find many other places. It just seems like such a more personal, thoughtful way of shopping, and is a great way to support small businesses!
I actually have a special connection to this boutique, being that the owner, Cindy Hickly, is one of my mom’s old friends. Cindy founded Evolve in 2014 and has great success so far – they were even voted Best Boutique in the South Sound for both 2016 AND 2017! Their welcoming, down to earth vibe is hard not to love.
In addition to carrying home décor (rugs, pillows, frames, books, furniture, candles, etc.) and offering design services, Evolve Home and Apparel also sells clothes and accessories. Another thing I love is that they are constantly adding new items to the store, and will post about them on social media (@evolvehometacoma). From time to time they will put on fun crafting events such as macrame workshops with local artists!
Just a few weeks ago I stopped in and found this boho dress!
I paired it with a rich chestnut colored purse and mules to bring out that color in the dress.
The simple fringe detail adds a little something extra without being too much.

All of the photos in this post (except for the ones in-store at Evolve) were taken by Moch Snyder. She’s a local photographer who is SO talented, laid back, and fun to shoot with! She and her husband Jon often work together – I’ve also known them for a long time. You can find their website here.
Thanks for reading and have a great week!
