4 Ways to Wear Cropped Jeans

There is absolutely nothing like the perfect pair of jeans. When they are comfortable, fit right, and can be worn for almost any occasion, you really can’t go wrong! I was on the hunt for a great pair of cropped jeans for awhile before I found these Topshop MOTO Blue Raw Hem Straight Leg Jeans that quickly became my go-to. They are mid-rise, and with the straight leg you get a slightly looser, more comfortable fit.

I have been living in these jeans for the past few months, wearing them practically everyday (with no shame). For some reason you can put on pretty much anything with them and be good to go. There are so many different outfits you can create with just one pair of cropped denim! In this post I’m going to share four of my favorite ways to wear mine, with details at the end of each look showing you where to find the specific items (or something similar if it is no longer available).

1. DENIM ON DENIM

I am really loving this trend right now. It’s simple, comfortable, and is easy to throw on without putting too much thought into it. Whether you’re starting with a denim skirt, jeans, or shorts, a baggier jean jacket should work well on top. I tend to think that two different shades of denim compliment each other better, and staying neutral underneath with something like a white top will give it a cleaner look. Personally, I like to pair simple gold jewelry (hoops, layered necklaces, etc) with these blue hues. And, of course, the platform vans are consistent with the relaxed vibe. Depending on what you’re going for, you could also do a nude sandal or heel with this type of outfit.

2. CASUAL BUT COLORFUL IN CROPPED JEANS

I love spring and summer because it gets easier to add bright colors to your wardrobe. A basic colored tank and lace-up sandals are staples you probably already have in your closet! I love cropped denim with sandals like these that come up slightly higher. Adding a few pieces of chunky jewelry pulls the whole thing together, making this take on the cropped jeans wearable for any summer day – a BBQ, shopping, dinner date, etc.

3. CROPPED JEANS DRESSED UP

This outfit is by far my favorite. I’m a big fan of using a nicer shirt and heels to dress up jeans a bit… turning it into more of a day-to-night outfit! This top is from Zara – I am never disappointed when trying to find cute, dressier options there for a decent price. The collection they have right now has so many vibrant floral patterns! And finally, platform heels like these are amazing because they are not only adorable but are also SO comfortable.

4. ON THE GO

I’ll wear my cropped jeans with this type of outfit when I’m running errands and not really doing anything special. Just grab your favorite graphic tee or tank and a pair of sneakers and you’re set! My favorite part about this look is the shoes. My boyfriend got me these for Christmas after I’d been hinting about wanting them for awhile. They are so comfortable, and the neutral olive color combined with the sleeker profile make it so that they match anything you put them on with!

You could also modify/add to this outfit by adding a bright colored sports bra to peek out the sides or in the back, or put on a baseball cap (perfect for bad hair days).

As I mentioned quite a few times, I am obsessed with this pair of cropped jeans. They show off your shoes well (typically my favorite part of my outfit) and are a no-brainer when deciding what to wear… I highly recommend them!  Cropped denim like this is available quite a few places now, but here are a few options similar to mine.

Thank you SO much for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it and now feel confident about styling your own cropped jeans!
